It’s go time! This is not a drill. So many things to get done. Work. House. Travel. Snacks.

The post it system is making a comeback! It was pretty helpful last time (see Simplify and Execute), so it’s back!

I’ve already destroyed about 50 wrapping up my house projects preparing to sell. Believe it or not, that process is -almost- behind me!

Up next is prepping for the move. I’ve got a few main categories:

• Selling Alaska- selling my house. Luckily my parents came through and helped me wrap up final projects to get it listed and showing. I even accepted an offer before they left town, so now we’re just doing the March toward closing unless something new comes up. It went so fast! I do still have to do paperwork and close and any repairs that may have come up in inspection, but I feel pretty good about where I am.
• Packing- as I mentioned last time, I do have movers packing up my stuff, but it gets complicated when you’re not just moving out of one house into another. I have to anticipate being separated from my house stuff for a few months until I find somewhere to live. Further, there is lots of stuff they won’t move (hazardous, perishable), or needs to be prepared to move (fragile items, disassembling things, unhooking electronics,etc.)
• House hunting- in the midst of selling the house and wrapping up stuff here, I’m planning to do a house hunting trip… I think? It’s weird with covid and all of the stuff I have to do here, but it’s going to be crazy enough trying to find a place, I should make good use of the time I get.
• En route- planning the trip from Juneau to Denver. Yes I just did this in reverse, but I want to see some different things! I’ve also got to keep my budget in mind, book hotels, and have some energy left in the tank to start my new job when I get into town.
• Work- there are many loose ends to tie up and things to delegate. Also I’m interviewing to hire someone on my current team. Also my boss is retiring.
• Miscellany- address, utilities, hiking, visiting people, saying goodbye, doctor appointments, tending my squash patch…

Current moving status: in denial

Yeah I have a lot of post it notes, but am I really ready for them to pack up all my stuff in like 3 weeks? Nah.
