Home stretch home sickness

One day left until movers come, and it’s all suddenly very real. On top of being stressed about getting it all done, my days in Juneau are officially numbered.

Mendenhall Lake and glacier

Standing at the skaters cabin looking over this lake, my senses are assaulted with the fresh smell of spruce and water, the chill from the glacier, seeing my breath in the crisp air, watching the haze drift across the lake, and hearing nothing but the sound of my shoes on the mud and the dogs swimming in the lake down the beach.

I will miss this so much. I came here to walk at lunch often once we started working from home, through all seasons and weather. It looks different every time I visit, even day to day. I’ve been so lucky to live in such a beautiful place.

Ok back to packing and prep.

Liz is on the move…again

My time in Juneau is coming to an end soon!

I’ve accepted a position in our Colorado office, so I’ll be heading back there in September! That means:

  • Selling my house
  • Wrapping things up at my current job
  • Finding somewhere to live in Colorado
  • Starting a new job

Just a short to-do list. I’m a little overwhelmed, but also pumped about the moving challenge. I tend to game-ify it a little bit to see how well I can optimize and organize my move. This round I added a new degree of difficulty: real estate.

More to come on the big move.
